 Release Date: Spring 2001

Distributor: Warner Brothers

Production Company: Silver Films (Romeo Must Die, The Matrix, Dungeons & Dragons)

Cast: Steven Seagal, DMX; other cast not yet announced.

Director: Andrzej Bartkowiak (Romeo Must Die)

Screenwriter: Ed Horowitz (cowriter of On Deadly Ground), Rich D'Ovidio (debut)

Based Upon: The novel of the same title by John Westermann. The good news for Seagal if this movie is a hit is that the book had a sequel, The Honor Farm.

Premise: Orin Boyd (Seagal), a tough cop in an inner-city precinct discovers a web of dirty cops and corruption. That's his cue to kick butt and take names! (DMX is a "mysterious man" who helps Seagal do his thing).

Location Note: The novel took place on Long Island, but the announcement of the movie mentioned that it was set in an "inner-city precinct". It's not known if that means Long Island is being dumped or not. (4/20/00) Producer Joel Silver told The L.A. Times that Seagal's character is in anger management, doesn't sport a ponytail, and there are nods in the script to his film past, indicating that this is a return to the sort of character Seagal started off playing.
