Location Note: The novel took place on Long Island, but the announcement of

the movie mentioned that it was set in an "inner-city precinct". It was filmed in Toronto.  Producer Joel Silver told The L.A. Times that Seagal's character is in

anger management, doesn't sport a ponytail, and there are nods in the script to

his film past, indicating that this is a return to the sort of character Seagal

started off playing.
